Lingnan wins THE’s Student Recruitment Campaign of the Year

Lingnan has won the THE Awards Asia 2023’s Student Recruitment Campaign of the Year prize for the excellent performance and results of its student recruitment with a series of outreach strategies and initiatives.

 

Facing a downward trend in student applications at the undergraduate level prior to 2020 due to demographic changes in Hong Kong and other factors, the Registry has taken a proactive role in formulating policies to maintain Lingnan’s presence and enhance its visibility during the Covid-19 pandemic.

 

Over the past two years, these outreach programmes have resulted in a significant increase in applications. Comparing 2022 with 2021, 60.8 per cent more applications were received from students from Mainland China with gaokao results, and 36.6 per cent more from local students with HKDSE results.

 

We also recorded a rise of 14.5 per cent in the number of applications received from students with other qualifications in the same intake.

 

The Faculty of Arts was also shortlisted for the THE Asia Awards’ Excellence and Innovation in the Arts for its two digital knowledge transfer projects “Hong Kong Film History in Digital Media” and “How to Read Chinese Poetry Podcast/Videos Programme”.
