A Hong Kong Youth Corporate Badminton Tournament organised by the Youth Executive Committee (YEC) of The Chinese General Chamber of Commerce, Hong Kong (CGCC) and Lingnan University to celebrate the 27th Anniversary of Hong Kong’s return was held on 22 June. The event fosters collaboration and networking among corporate members and encourages sport for the young.

 

Dr Bernard Chan Pak-li, Under Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development of the Commerce and Economic Development Bureau, and Prof S. Joe Qin, President of Lingnan University, were invited to attend the opening ceremony and deliver welcoming speeches.

 

Fifteen corporations took part in the tournament, which included 15 Men’s Doubles and nine Mixed Doubles competing for the Gold Cup and Gold Plate. Lingnan students did very well in the group matches and knockout rounds, were runners-up in the Men’s Doubles and took third place in the Mixed Doubles.
