Lingnan Education Organization donation ceremony-cum-LEO Ambassadors Appointment

The Lingnan Education Organization donation ceremony-cum-LEO Ambassadors appointment was held at the Lingnan Club on 28 May. In recognition of LEO’s many contributions to Lingnan University, the ceremony celebrates its generous donation and unfailing support. This donation aims to not only expand the university's teaching facilities, but to also establish a Lingnan history museum and archive to commemorate the university's rich history and heritage.

On this occasion, 72 students with outstanding achievements in academics, community service, overseas and Mainland exchange programmes, and research projects were appointed as LEO Ambassadors, where they will go on to fulfil the mission of promoting liberal arts education as well as contributing to the University and LEO.

Lingnan co-organises China Rehabilitation Medicine Association Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Rehabilitation Conference 2024

 

Lingnan University co-organised the China Rehabilitation Medicine Association Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Rehabilitation Conference from 14 to 16 June at the Guangzhou Yuexiu International Congress Center. There were 35 specialised academic sessions, which attracted experts and guests from fields spanning health services, medical insurance policy research, cutting-edge technology innovation, and the life sciences and healthcare industry to discuss the issues pertaining “comprehensive rehabilitation”.

 

Dr Chloe Siu, senior lecturer of the Institute of Policy Studies and the School of Graduate Studies at Lingnan University, presented a report titled “New Opportunities for Home Rehabilitation in Hong Kong's Ageing Society: A Discussion on the Applicability of Home Rehabilitation and Gerontechnology”, where she spoke about the latest study by the LU Gerontechnology Project Team.
 

Lingnan University and the Hopson Education Charitable Funds sign donation agreement to cultivate talents for the digital era

 

An agreement signing ceremony was successfully held on 17 June at the Lingnan University to mark the donation of HK$100 million by the Hopson Education Charitable Funds Limited towards establishing a university development fund and supporting Lingnan University to cultivate research-oriented talents with innovative mindsets and leadership abilities.

 

Prof S. Joe Qin, President and Wai Kee Kau Chair Professor of Data Science of Lingnan University, and Prof Tang Tao, Director of the Hopson Education Charitable Funds, signed the agreement on behalf of both parties, under the witness of Mr Andrew Yao Cho-fai, Council Chairman of Lingnan University, and Mr Zhu Ziyang, Executive Director from Hopson Education Charitable Funds

 Lingnan University’s Chamber of Young Snow Art Exhibition Hall curates Sensing Things - Phase II, Chinese paintings and ceramics from the Song Dynasty to the 20th century

 

Lingnan University’s Chamber of Young Snow Art Exhibition Hall curates Sensing Things - Phase II, exhibiting about 30 Chinese paintings and ceramics dating from the Song Dynasty to the 20th century from the Chamber of Young Snow Collection. The exhibition is now open to public until November, and guided tours are free of charge and open for registration. CYS Hall will also partner with Hong Kong’s Fifthday Studio to hold two “Hands-on Journey of Traditional Ceramic Art: Porcelain Decoration” workshops in July, where participants create their own ceramic masterpieces.
