Faculty of Business holds 2024 Greater Bay Area Alumni Gathering to strengthen alumni community bonds

 

The Faculty of Business of Lingnan University took pleasure in hosting the 2024 Greater Bay Area Alumni Gathering in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, on 26 May. 350 alumni, teachers and guests attended the landmark event to celebrate new relationships and contacts. Distinguished attendees included Prof Raymond Chan Hon-fu, Vice-President (Academics) cum Provost; Prof Xin Yao, Vice-President (Research and Innovation); Prof Sam Kwong Tak-wu, Associate Vice-President (Strategic Research); and Prof Leng Mingming, Dean of the Faculty of Business, as well as the Chairman and members of the Advisory Board on Business Studies. The evening featured a variety of performances including singing, dancing, playing the guzheng and live rock painting, as well as lucky draws for prizes. This successful alumni gathering has forged deeper bonds and affection between graduates and their alma mater, and the Faculty of Business is confident that with the support and assistance of the alumni, both the University and Faculty will continue to flourish. 

Lingnan University and Friends of the Earth (HK) launch higher education sector’s first Executive Certificate in Sustainable Finance & ESG Analytics, integrating AI and big data analytics

 

On the occasion of World Environment Day (5 June), the Science Unit of Lingnan University and Friends of the Earth (HK) have signed a partnership agreement to launch the first Executive Certificate in Sustainable Finance & ESG Analytics for executives of higher education institutions in the Greater Bay Area (GBA), and aligned with the CESGA global certification. The partnership agreement was signed by Prof Lau Chi-pang, Associate Vice-President (Institutional Advancement and External Affairs) of Lingnan University, and Mr Plato Yip, Chairperson of Friends of the Earth (HK), on behalf of both parties. As a timely response to our era of digital transformation, this executive certificate training programme not only explores the concepts of Sustainable Finance, but also incorporates Lingnan’s expertise in Artificial Intelligence analytics, reflecting the global shift towards the integration of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) factors in financial decision-making. Featuring lectures from experienced instructors from the finance and business sectors, the comprehensive curriculum will include topics such as ESG trends and development, ESG integration, reporting, the carbon market, investment strategy in ESG, and data-driven ESG analysis.
