Applied PsychologyThis course develops among students fundamental knowledge and interest in the field of psychology, and provides an overview of the profession of psychology in Hong Kong. Diverse areas in psychology, such as principles of research design, personality development, mental health, and stress and conflict management will be covered. Students who have completed the course will be able to apply the acquired concepts and skills to daily life as well as social and professional contexts, in addition to enhancing their self-understanding and personal growth. 韓國語文及文化本課程為學生提供韓國語文知識，並介紹各種韓國文化。課程涵蓋基礎韓語、韓國百科、古今韓國文化、韓國社會及生活方式、韓流、韓國商業文化等範疇。學生完成課程後，應能在日常生活及工作情境上運用韓語和展示對當代韓國文化的認識，並應用於個人、社會及專業層面上，同時提升自我了解及促進個人成長。 Image

HKSAR Self-Financing Post-Secondary Scholarship 2024

37 Associate Degree and Higher Diploma students from Lingnan Institute of Further Education (LIFE) received scholarships from the Hong Kong SAR Government under the "Self-Financing Post-Secondary Scholarship Scheme". 3 student representatives, Ms. YU Cho Ki, Ms. YU Kit Man and Mr. WEI Cheung, attended the Award Presentation Ceremony held on 25 April 2023. This year, a total of 9 students were awarded the "Outstanding Performance Scholarship", while 2 students were presented the "Best Progress Award". 6 students were awarded “Talent Development Scholarship”, 17 students were awarded “Reaching Out Award” and 3 students were awarded “Endeavour Scholarship”. LIFE congratulates all the awardees on their outstanding achievements and wishes them greater success in the future.

LIFE Info Day 2024 Session 2

Lingnan Institute of Further Education (LIFE) will hold the “LIFE Info Day 2024”. Guests in particular disciplines will be invited to share the most updated information of the relevant industries, as well as the challenges on the career pathways. LIFE’s teachers will introduce related Associate Degree and Higher Diploma programmes details. Besides, LIFE will provide face-to-face or online individual programme consultation, helping students to learn more about the programmes and plan for their articulation pathway. All students taking 2024 HKDSE, secondary school teachers and parents are welcome to join.

LIFE signed the Collaboration Scheme with AHKCMS

Lingnan Institute of Further Education (LIFE) has always been committed to providing high-quality sub-degree programmes for students. LIFE engages with secondary schools across Hong Kong to understand students' various needs in the ever-changing environment. To expand support for secondary school students, LIFE has signed a Collaboration Scheme with The Association of Hong Kong Chinese Middle Schools (AHKCMS), which includes the following 5 major items:

LIFE achieved outstanding results in LU Sports Day 2024

The Lingnan University Sports Day 2024 was held on 21 February 2024 at the Pan Sutong Sports Ground. LIFE students and staff won multiple awards in various events, including the men's long jump, high jump, discus, 100M, 200M, 1500M, 3000M, and the women's 400M, with champions in all events. LIFE students won all top 3 places in the men's triple jump. In the "4x100M Staff Relay", LIFE won the first runner up award. With all outstanding results, LIFE won the overall Men's Team Championship. LIFE congratulates all the athletes for their achievements and wishes them even greater success in the future.

畢業典禮2023 圓滿舉行

嶺南大學持續進修學院 (學院) 畢業典禮今天 (12月7日) 圓滿舉行。今年有504名副學士、高級文憑、文憑及毅進文憑畢業生獲頒授畢業證書，同時學院頒發院長獎及獎學金予成績傑出的同學，以作鼓勵。嶺南大學持續進修學院院長余嘉明教授於典禮上祝賀各位畢業生，慶賀畢業生展開人生新一章，又勉勵大家繼續追求更高的學術成就。余教授又藉「Wonderful Tonight」及「What a Wonderful World」兩首經典歌曲，寄語畢業生在未來勿忘感恩，與家人、重要的人分享愛，並在失意時記起生活的美麗及色彩，繼續奮鬥。

Graduation and Volunteer Award Presentation Ceremony for Enriched ICT Training Programme for the Elderly - The Enjoyable Journey of Gerontechnology

The Lingnan University Elder Academy organized "Enriched ICT Training Programme for the Elderly - The Enjoyable Journey of Gerontechnology" project (2021-2023) sponsored by the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer (OGCIO), which is coming to a close. The Graduation and Volunteer Award Presentation Ceremony was successfully held on December 1, 2023, at MBG22, Patrick Lee Wan Keung Academic Building, Lingnan University.

LIFE students achieved outstanding results in the Diploma of Applied Education Joint-School Sports Day

Lingnan Institute of Further Education (LIFE) students participated in the Diploma of Applied Education Joint-School Sports Day, and achieved outstanding results in the inter-school basketball and dodgeball competitions, winning 1st Runner-up and 2nd Runner-up respectively. The Sports Day was held at the Southorn Stadium in Wan Chai, with eight schools sending teams to compete. In the basketball competition, LIFE team performed exceptionally well, defeating two teams to enter the final. Despite their best efforts in the final, they narrowly lost by four points and had to settle for the runner-up position among the ten teams.

Navigation Scheme for Young Persons in Care Services

Graduation Ceremony for the 10th & 11th Class & Opening Ceremony for the 15th Class of “Navigation Scheme for Young Persons in Care Services”, organized by Asia-Pacific Institute of Ageing Studies (APIAS), Lingnan Institute of Further Education (LIFE) and Haven of Hope Christian Service (HOHCS), were held successfully on 21 October 2023 at Lingnan University.

LIFE Students awarded Vocational Education Scholarship

LIFE Welcome Day 2023

Lingnan Institute of Further Education (LIFE) held the “LIFE Welcome Day 2023” on 17 August 2023. More than 150 freshmen of Associate Degree, Higher Diploma, Diploma and Diploma of Applied Education Programmes came together and participated in the event. Students were divided into 10 groups with senior students as leaders. They experienced a series of activities designed and held by LIFE Student Development Office, including ice-breaking games, group competitions and campus orienteering. Students got to know each other, and got more familiar with the campus and tertiary education environment. They were more prepared to the brand new life and were less anxious adapting to it. At the end of the event, LIFE invited 4 alumni to have a sharing session. They shared about their studying experience in LIFE, and encouraged students to pay effort for their own goal studying in LIFE. They emphasized the adequate support of LIFE lecturers, and encouraged students to seek advice on both academic and non-academic issues. Students grasped the opportunity to ask alumni more. The communication was congruent and fruitful. More orientation activities were to be held in August so as to prepare freshmen better before the semester starts.

Direct Admission Scheme 2024-25

Lingnan Institute of Further Education (LIFE) Diploma and Diploma of Applied Education (DAE) students are eligible to apply LIFE’s Associate Degree and Higher Diploma programmes. LIFE Diploma and DAE students may apply through Direct Admission Scheme and LIFE will reserve the vacancy of the programme of their first choice*. Students will receive the conditional offer of the relevant programme within two weeks. Application fee will be waived when students apply through the application link below, on first-come-first-served basis.
